This coming Saturday, February 6, at 8pm local time, followers of “Roosh V”- noted sexist, racist, homophobic, and overall horrible monster (not a human being)- will be holding secret meetings to rally for rape to be legalized. You didn’t read this wrong THEY WANT RAPE TO BE LEGALIZED.
This shit is dangerous af, and as they have barred anyone who isn’t male or straight, so we need all our white male allies to gather and shut this shit down. If you are a straight man of colour, please be careful. Even though the website says the meeting is for straight men of all races, the Roosh V following has also been known to be very racist and xenophobic.
Here is how the meeting will take place, as according to their website (I’m not going to link it because it does not deserve any hits, but all the info here is authentic- you may google and see for yourself):
We will have 165 meetings in 43 countries for our international meetup day on February 6, 2016 at 8PM local time. Hosts have been instructed to wait at the meeting point from 8:00-8:20pm before moving on to the final location. If you arrive at the meeting point at 8:21pm, you will miss the meetup. Arriving on time within the window is absolutely paramount.
To identify your fellow tribesmen, ask the following question to a man you suspect is there for the meetup: “Do you know where I can find a pet shop?” If you are asked this question, answer in the affirmative: “Yes, it’s right here.” You can then introduce yourself and get details about where to proceed at 8:20. If you ask someone for the pet shop and they appear confused or actually try to direct you to a real pet shop, they’re not there for the meetup.
If you are a woman, DO NOT GO, your safety is at risk. Roosh V has made it very apparent that your presence might be met with violence.
I won’t be able to attend a shut down (obvs- brown gay turban guy), but we need to shut this down ASAP. So to all my white brothers who identify as allies, now is your time to stand up and act.
I will be calling the RCMP and reporting this, make sure you report this to your local police as well.
Here is a list of all the locations where these men will come together (Roosh V himself will be at the Washington DC location):

Roosh V., a notorious “pick-up artist,”
“Men’s Rights Activist” and raging misogynist/idiot and proprietor of
the “Return of Kings” website, is organizing meet-ups in 43 countries throughout the world and nearly all 50 states in the U.S., this at 8pm, on Saturday, February the 6th.
Only heterosexual men will be allowed to attend the meet-ups, and Roosh
claims he will “exact furious retribution” on any women or person
that isn’t a heterosexual cis man who attempts to infiltrate them.
Last year, Roosh wrote an article in which he advocated for legalizing rape if it occurs on private property.
“By attempting to teach men not to rape, what we have
actually done is teach women not to care about being raped, not to
protect themselves from easily preventable acts, and not to take
responsibility for their actions. I thought about this problem and am
sure I have the solution: make rape legal if done on private property.”
“I propose that we make the violent taking of a woman not punishable by law when done off public grounds,” Valizadeh said. [x]
HUH?!

Gisella Perl was forced to work as a doctor in Auschwitz concentration camp during the holocaust.
She was ordered to report ever pregnant women do the physician Dr. Josef Mengele, who would then use the women for cruel experiments (e.g. vivisections) before killing them.
She saved hundreds of women by performing abortions on them before their pregnancy was discovered, without having access to basic medical supplies. She became known as the “Angel of Auschwitz”.
After being rescued from Bergen-Belsen concentration camp she tried to commit suicide, but survived, recovered and kept working as a gynecologist, delivering more than 3000 babies.
I want to nail this to the forehead of every anti-abortionist who uses the word “Holocaust” when talking about legal abortions.
Oxford Dictionary is under fire after Michael Oman-Reagan, an anthropologist and Ph.D. candidate, pointed out these instances of sexist example sentences accompanying words like “rabid” and “shrill.” At first, Oxford Dictionaries responded with the above flippant tweet — but later apologized and vowed to change at least one of the words.
It’s gonna be really awkward when you scream because a white woman and a black man kissed.
“interracial erasure is okay when ur not straight right?? racism is totally over!! whats a bisexual??? theres no such thing as a bisexual!! who let you in here??”
literally what are any of you even talking about. i don’t care that finn’s black & rey’s white, i care that they have no romantic chemistry whatsoever (in my opinion) & like ok buddy i am bisexual wyd that doesn’t mean i still don’t want rey to have a girlfriend like ???? i’m just tired of predictable straight relationships?? how did bisexuality even come up?? she could still be bi?? because that’s the funny thing about it, it goes multiple ways
Literally all of y’all need to Chill™
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to see a non-fetishised f/f relationship in one of the biggest movie franchises ever, especially one involving one of the best, least sexualised characters in the franchise (cause lbr, f/f relationships in films are pretty much ALWAYS sexualised and there for male pleasure).
I’m bi and I’d rather Rey was with… Pretty much anyone who’s not Finn. Just… No. I also understand that putting her in a f/f relationship would be far more progressive than sticking her with a guy and the producers, offscreen saying, “you can interpret her sexuality how you want, she’s totally bi if you want it” (cause you know that shit’d be offscreen).
Idk if the OP ships Finn/Poe like I do but I think having one of the biggest movie franchises in the world’s main trio as a gay, interracial couple and a queer woman would be far more progressive than a single heterosexual interracial couple.
tl;dr trying to stop the representation of queer women by throwing about accusations of racism and biphobia is toxic and wrong 😘
thank you!!! & i do ship finn/poe!! 🙂 especially after “i was playing romance in the cockpit scene”
still interracial, but also w an lgb+ bonus
Exactly! People seem to forget that Oscar Isaac (the main bae) isn’t white. Or that interracial relationships don’t have to be black/white. Or maybe that racism happens between non-White races and other non-White races, which makes this kind of interracial relationship just as progressive (if not more so) than a black/white relationship.
People don’t know shit, basically
The Discourse ™
omfg this is too ugly Fake Progressive Slash Fandom one-up-man-ship lmao gag me
I’d like to address some of the things you wrote point by point.
“they have no romantic chemistry whatsoever (in my opinion)”
Comments like this have a history of being applied frequently when the pairing is black/white across multiple fandoms (see The Flash, Sleepy Hallow, Jessica Jones, The Walking Dead, etc., etc.). This very clear and frequent pattern is why people, especially fans of color who have seen this over and over again, detect latent bias in these statements. Also, this inability to see romantic chemistry between a black man and white woman when the film and novelization went to great lengths to include it seems glaring in the face of people seeing chemistry based on significantly less to no narrative support at all. It would seem there is something more than actor comments, subtext, or actual text, impacting which pairs people deem to have chemistry. Too often, race is the common denominator in all of these equations.
“i’m just tired of predictable straight relationships??”
Given the long history of films not depicting black/white romantic relationships (the Production Code used to outlaw “miscegenation,” poc, especially black people, in romantic relationships with white people), specifically black man/white woman romantic relationships, FinnRey would not be a “predictable straight relationship.” Please do not ignore race in discussions of het relationships.
“I’m bi and I’d rather Rey was with… Pretty much anyone who’s not Finn. Just… No.”
Anyone who’s not Finn? Statements like this seem to have an undertone of anti-blackness because you seem to be saying you rather see Rey partnered with someone who abused and tortured her, General Hux, BB-8, Unkar Plutt, Poe whom she’s not yet met, Han Solo’s corpse, etc., rather than the perfectly decent black man who has been established by the narrative to truly care for her and she him. Since you don’t specify the gender of the person you rather her be with, it doesn’t seem like your reasoning is the simplistic “ew het” argument. You don’t specify if the person needs to be kind to her, supportive, caring, not related, etc, so the reasoning doesn’t seem to be that you prefer a different dynamic in your pairings. Your reasoning also doesn’t seem to be that it would get in the way of some other pairing – Finn could be bi, in a poly-amorous relationship with Poe AND Rey. Since new characters are fair game, Rey could date a new lady AND Finn. It seems your problem is specifically with Finn and him, specifically, being with Rey. Given that Finn has been shown to be nothing but an upstanding, courageous person willing to put his life on the line for Rey, it begs the question: why anybody but Finn?
“trying to stop the representation of queer women by throwing about accusations of racism and biphobia is toxic and wrong 😘“
Here’s the deal, in order to stop something it must already be happening. Rey has not been established as queer and given the script and the novelization, the narrative is establishing an emotional connection to Finn. The FinnRey ball is already heavily in play whereas the Rey/Female Character ball is still on the sidelines and currently only exists within fandom. No one is trying to stop folks from shipping Rey/Female Character. However, given your language it seems you both are vehemently against FinnRey which IS actually established on screen. The level of vitriol toward Finn specifically, (”I’ll scream if Rey kisses him”/”Anybody but Finn!”) is alarming and concerning. You’re cool with Rey kissing an as yet unidentified female or ANY other character but the idea of that happening with Finn fills you with do not want? Why?
“would be far more progressive than/still interracial, but also w an lgb+ bonus/which makes this kind of interracial relationship just as progressive (if not more so) than a black/white relationship.“
Please don’t do this. This progressive point keeping is reductive, lacks an intersectional lens, and pits marginalized groups against each other. Additionally, such progressive point keeping is consistently used to drown out the concerns of people of color, especially black people attempting to directly confront specific manifestations of white supremacy and anti-blackness. One can support a POC/POC interracial relationship (even an LGBT one) and still harbor anti-black racism. Yes, Finn/Poe is interracial & LGBT & Queer Rey would be representation for queer women. However, these arguments should not be used to ignore, erase, or excuse that 1) fandoms are too often averse to
Black/White pairings specifically because of white supremacy and
anti-blackness, and 2) they’re averse in a way that they aren’t averse
to Black/POC and 3) that they’ll often use their support of the latter to
mask the latent (likely, unconscious) racism fueling their aversion to
the former. Also, we can’t ignore the specific harm of clearly writing the development of a romantic relationship between Black/White characters and/or putting Black/White characters in the same situations that would usually lead to romance if it was a White/White pairing and then not following through, thereby adding to audiences’ seeming inability to ever “see chemistry” between Black/White pairs.
In short, all of your analysis lacks the necessary racial component. Your analysis is simply set up as LGBT vs Het. By positioning the argument as LGBT vs. Het you obscure, erase, and
devalue the racial component and specific concerns of Black people and
other POC. Additionally, by framing the argument as you have, you have neglected to detect the latent anti-blackness in your own comments. You cannot erase Finn’s blackness. He is not just “a guy,” he is a black man and that matters. Intersectionality is your friend.
That’s the “shit” we know and that’s what we’re talking about.
This is only mid-year and I didn’t even include the reports of mothers killing their children from previous years or other countries.”
The only thing “shocking” here is how far you’ve managed to cram your head up your own ass.
