Please, reblog! IIt’s called self defense. Apart from having here, in the US, one of the highest cases of homicide and rape in the world and high rate of GBV, think about how this could help your mother or sister
Directed by Libby Spears, this documentary film exposes the failures of the United States legal system and the foster care systems implemented to protect children from the growing child sex trade in their own backyards. Spears scrutinizes these elements as well as family life and mainstream media that normalize violent sexual behaviors against children. Playground gives an up-close look into the raw reality of the sexual exploration of children in the Unites States for an unwary audience.

the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy is presents a romance-style female-focused fantasy adventure, which is rare for blockbuster movies.
– you are Keira Knightley, the high-spirited and ever so slightly spoiled child of a doting father who happens to be the governor
– every man in the world is crazy about you, from the dashing naval officer who asks for your hand in marriage to the handsome young blacksmith’s apprentice who you met as a child and feel a strong bond with to the devilish pirate lord who saves your life and flirts with you shamelessly and you make out with him once but it’s for a good cause
– you have two weddings, one where you femme it up and then it turns all emo when it rains on your wedding day and the groom is dragged off in chains by another guy who secretly has the hots for you and then you have a second wedding where you dress as a man because you’re the pirate king now and you exchange custom vows and witty banter during a sword fight with zombies
So the man who murdered 5 people at the Capital Gazette newspaper had a long-running feud with the publication – a feud born of a lawsuit that stemmed from his stalking and harassment of a woman that wanted nothing to do with him.
The newspaper ran a story about his harassment against her, and how she nearly lost her job because of the calls he’d make to her place of of work.
I see many headlines stating that the gunman, Jarrod Ramos, had a personal feud with the paper, but I have yet to see headlines that contextualize this entire feud for what it is – male entitlement, misogyny, and harassment.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the original article that prompted this rampage of is. In it, it’s reported that he randomly added a woman he went to High School with because she was the “only person to ever say hello or be nice to him in school”. After some friendly suggestions on her part that he should seek concealing, he began his stalking and harassment campaign against her.
The original article:
A cursory glance at his now suspended Twitter reveals a string of angry tweets targeting all of those involved in the lawsuit against him, including comments like this:
Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it comes out that he frequented incel forums and websites.
Another possible connection is how the repugnant Milo Yiannopoulos just days ago called for “gunning down journalists”. Given the extreme fragility of these types of men, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if those comments are connected and Ramos acted on them.
Regardless, at the end of the day, Jarrod Ramos is just the latest high-profile manifestation of misogyny & male-entitlement, and I’d love to see more articles explicitly pointing it out as such.
Get that IUD. Snag some morning after pills. Get a passport/make sure yours is updated.
What’s next at the Supreme Court will set us back generations.
Roe will be overturned as soon as they get that seat filled and if you think I’m exaggerating I’d urge you to look at the opinions this term and then consider what happens when all we have are Ginsburg, Sotomayor, and Kagan filing gorgeous, fiery dissents that will make absolutely no difference in what will come to pass.
op is not wrong that you should take care of the things we may have been taking for granted as many of us we grew up with the battle already fought for us BUT
i want to say that what roe vs. wade did was make it illegal for states/localities to ban abortions. that’s it. so if it gets overturned, it will go back to the states. it doesn’t mean the right to abortion will disappear from the USA forever. like, yeah this is really fucking serious but let’s not jump straight to fear mongering.
if you live in a red state, yeah, you should be worried. even us in blue states should be on alert.
BUT THIS IS WHY YOUR VOTE WILL STILL MATTER. FLIP YOUR STATE TO PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS. 20 REPUBLICAN SENATE SEATS ARE UP FOR RE-ELECTION IN NOVEMBER. THE WHOLE HOUSE.
