If you live in the socal area and are/ know someone undocumented please be careful when going to Walmart or to be safe just don’t go in general ICE has been known to go in there

This isn’t information that can sit in your likes guys I’m not trying to guilt trip but this is life or death please reblog and spread

Also keep your kids close. ICE has been raiding parks and taking children to force their parents to come out and retrieve them. Ramsey Park in Watsonville CA has seen a bunch of this, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a widespread technique.

Where’s all the “Blue Lives Matter” people now?!?!

…Or does that only matter if the offenders aren’t also cops?

Evacuation orders issued for low levels of Oroville

justsomeantifas:

For those of you saying that there’s no danger surrounding this dam regarding people’s lives, I’d like to link you to this, they are evacuating right now because this IS a threat, this IS dangerous. 85% of the dams in the united states are reaching their life expectancy and people are in danger, first the one in nevada failed, and now this one is failing, to an extent where they’re evacuating people. Land will be devastated, animals will die, and people could potentially die/lose everything. We need to pay attention to our infrastructure, it is crumbling under us.

“Officials are anticipating a failure of the Auxiliary Spillway at Oroville Dam within the next 60 minutes (5:45 p.m.),” the California Department of Water Resources said on Facebook.

Guys there’s a ton of raids and ICE IS ALL OVER Austin and I just don’t wanna be here anymore I wanna go away

For anyone in Austin, there’s a checkpoint on N. Lamar near Rundberg, and one in Decker Ln. So stay away,. There’s video recordings of them having arrested already a few ppl in front of the HEB on north Lamar. My cousin who lives by Sendero Hills on 969 said they raided some of the taco stands there so please stay away!!
Apparently they’re knocking door to door in Manor so we’ll see if they knock in mine.

It’s no surprise they’re attacking areas where most of the Latino population is concentrated.
Lamar/Runberg
Decker Ln
East Riverside
Cameron Rd

I would say people in those areas should be worried the most. Call your family if they’re out for work and prob tell them to not come home for a while.

Fuck….it’s really happening.

Also in Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Atlanta last I heard, so probably more places too. Someone said they’re targeting sanctuary cities, which makes sense because Melania’s husband is a vindictive fuck.

ICE is even going to people’s homes and tiny to trick people into letting them in. In Atlanta, possibly in the other areas too, schools were NOTIFIED IN CASE PARENTS DIDN’T PICK KIDS UP BECAUSE THEY WERE BUSY BEING DEPORTED. That’s incredibly fucked up.

I found this tho, feel free to share: “Report When a Raid is happening. If you or someone you know experiences a raid, you can call the United We Dream hotline immediately and report it: 1-844-363-1423. To receive text alerts, text: WATCH ICE to 877877.”

You can also text 877877 to report a raid in a specific zip code, and they encourage you to send pictures and details of what’s happening.

Bishop Curry V may be young (10 years old, to be precise), but the little kid from Texas has some big ideas. He’s currently working on a device that could help prevent children from dying in hot cars.

The number of children who died in hot cars increased across the country last year, and Texas had the highest number of cases. Sadly for Bishop, the issue also hits close to home because a baby died in a minivan last summer outside a home near his own family’s home in McKinney.

Bishop was inspired to create a device he calls “Oasis,” which would attach to a car seat and detect if a child is left inside the vehicle, prompting it to blow cool air until parents or the police are notified.

“It would be a dream to have lots of inventions that would save many lives,” the precocious 10-year-old told the news station.

source

A lot of people don’t realize how easy it is to leave something in a hot car.

It’s easy to forget something when it’s not in your daily routine, especially if it’s asleep or under a blanket or something.

This is a nightmare. I don’t have kids myself, but I can absolutely understand how this could happen- everyone’s sick so you’re probably kind of out of it, you run in thinking you’re just going to be a minute, get distracted with the task at hand… and then your child dies in a horrific way because of it…

I’m all for any methods or technologies that can help prevent it from turning tragic.

School related:

I am getting wishlists from area elementary school teachers. Their yearly budgets are only $100 per year.

They’re all in desperate need of various items throughout the year.

I’m connecting them with retired teachers and people who are downsizing the office/school/art supplies in their homes.

This is only one school.

I will get another list of educators next week. They go over the budgets easily. It’s impossible to stay within budgets when students can’t buy their own school supplies.

ALL of these folks are buying items for their classrooms and for their students OUT OF POCKET.

Let’s help them out.  I’ll post lists as I get them. 🙂

Please do. I will boost.

I am. So angry.

Listen to me.

I do not care whether or not you believe vaccines cause autism. Even though studies have shown time and time again that vaccines don’t cause autism and the original study stating that there was a link with autism and vaccines was fraudulent, it does not matter.

The reason that people are concerned about vaccines causing autism is because they’re not thinking of the long-term. Here’s the truth: when you are choosing to not having your child vaccinated because you’re afraid of autism, you are actively choosing death over a neurodevelopmental disorder. Let me phrase that in another way – you are either picking autism or death. It doesn’t have to be the death of your child. It can be literally any child. And death is the worst case scenario. Autism is not the worst case scenario. Death is always and will constantly be the worst case scenario.

There are children who are too young to get vaccines. There are kids who have compromised immune systems that cannot get vaccines. Your child getting vaccinated prevents these illnesses from spreading and keeps those children safe. It’s called community immunity and it’s important to maintain that so people don’t die.

tl;dr – Stop being a selfish asshole and get your kids vaccinated. There are worse things in the world than autism.

And before anyone starts coming to my inbox screaming about how “I don’t know how bad autism can be”, I know. Not only do I have a neurodevelopmental disorder, but I also had a friend with a severely autistic brother that could not talk when he was fifteen. I know. And even after witnessing him and being through my own shit, I would still get my kids vaccinated because I want them, and other kids, to live.

WTF, people.

Why the fuck do you think that your fear of autism (ungrounded, btw), beats someone else’s RIGHT TO LIVE?!?!

You don’t want to vaccinate your kid. Goody gumdrops.

You expose your godchild – who’s too young to be vaccinated.

You expose your sister-in-law – who is going through chemo (because having cancer isn’t bad enough), and immunocompromised.

You expose everyone they come in contact with – BECAUSE MEASLES STAYS ACTIVE FOR UP TO TWO HOURS ON SURFACES AND IN THE AIR OF A SPACE.

Number of people killed by symptoms associated with autism diagnoses: 0.

Number of people killed by measles in 2015: 134,000

Number of people killed per annum before vaccination became widespread in 1980: 2,600,000 (paraphrased from WHO).

VACCINATE YOUR FUCKING KIDS.

Measles is not harmless. Researchers noticed that after the measles vaccine came out, kids started dying less from other diseases as well. It turns out that measles suppresses your immune system for YEARS (and no, no amount of vitamin C or zinc is going to make up for that).

VACCINATE YOUR FUCKING KIDS

The fear of autism is irrational and dehumanizing and obviously ableist as shit. The death of your child or someone else who is immunocompromised is not a preferable alternative to raising a neurodivergent child, wtf is wrong with you

not that vaccines cause autism to begin with!!

and i know there’s a religious freedoms component to this argument but it doesn’t matter, your religious right ends when it puts someone else’s life in danger.

there are three adults in my life that have polio. three of *that generation*

is polio going to be our generation too????

vaccinate.

[Denmark] is the only case we know of in which the Nazis met with open native resistance, [and] the result seems to have been that those exposed to it changed their minds. They themselves apparently no longer looked upon the extermination of a whole people as a matter of course. They had met resistance based on principle, and their ‘toughness’ had melted like butter in the sun; they had even been able to show a few timid beginnings of genuine courage.

That the ideal of ‘toughness’…was nothing but a myth of self-deception, concealing a ruthless desire for conformity at any price, was clearly revealed at the Nuremberg Trials, where the defendants accused and betrayed each other and assured the world that they ‘had always been against it’–or claimed, as Eichmann was to do, that their best qualities had been ‘abused’ by their superiors. (In Jerusalem, he accused ‘those in power’ of having abused his ‘obedience.’) …The atmosphere had changed, and although most of them must have known that they were doomed, not a single one of them had the guts to defend the Nazi ideology.”

Hannah Arendt, “Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil.”

I want everyone to go read that link about Danish resistance, please, because it’s a very good example of what to emphasize:

  • Economic disruption
  • Independent press
  • Defense of marginalized people by word and deed

Yes, PLEASE read up on Denmark. the link is short & super basic, but gives a solid overview.

This is what Nixon, Reagan, and others did. You better believe Trump is going to utilize this strategy as well. (H/T @thatsmycj)

Text by Charles Flartey

a few things…

  • there will be a terror attack soon. you will be told it was carried out by someone from one of the countries on the travel ban list. it will be very convenient for the trump team and will reinforce and strengthen their narrative. it will smell very fishy. almost as if it was planned by them.
  • you’re about to start constantly hearing about all sorts of horrible crimes immigrants and refugees are committing in this country. this will be very convenient for the trump team and will reinforce and strengthen the narrative that their wall and travel ban are needed.
  • you’re gonna see more and more violent acts from protesters, taking all the focus away from what the protests are about and making all the protesters look bad. this will be very convenient for the trump team. it will almost be like those specific protesters were sent there by someone with the sole purpose of stirring up trouble.
