The Perfect Explanation of Privilege – In One Powerful Punchline
“The Pencilsword” is a comic strip by Toby Morris, an illustrator from New Zealand. His most recent comic, “On a Plate” hits hard at the heart of the issues of concerning wealth and privilege.
How many times have you heard the “I’ve never been handed anything on a platter” argument in regard to social security and other social benefits?
Toby wrecks this argument by showing how two children can grow up, be loved and supported, and yet still have two very different outcomes.
Make sure to follow all the way to the end for the powerful punchline. This comic is an increasingly sad reality for far too many of this nation’s children and families.
Reblogged from the source since someone deleted the text at the bottom.

REBLOG
Ive reblogged this before but now I will with commentary. THIS is what im talking about sometimes.
Sometimes it hurts when someone getting a free ride to college, which had employers looking into students being how they got hired into an industry, tells you you can do it too even though you can’t afford to go to college. And when you say anything about how hard it is, they whine their working hard too.
When you have physical and mental disorders constantly getting in the way of everything you do but you still work your ass off despite that, but its never enough. ever. And you’re told you just need to work harder from someone who doesnt have as severe, or doesnt have at all, those limitations.
When you get told if you work as hard as them you can be as sucessful as them, when their hard work is sowing land and yours is trying to take down a brick wall with a toothbrush.
And then when you discuss it, you get verbally told ‘at the end of the day, nobody owes you shit’ without realizing what their actually saying.
