Mudbound written & directed by Dee Rees did not get Best Picture or Best Director nominations at the 90th annual Academy Awards.
It did earn 4 Oscar nominations all of them record breaking:

- Dee Rees, nominated alongside her co-writer Virgil Williams, is the first black woman nominated in Best Adapted Screenplay.
- Mary J. Blige is the first black female performer nominated in two categories in the same year (Best Original Song and Best Supporting Actress).
