For those of you saying that there’s no danger surrounding this dam regarding people’s lives, I’d like to link you to this, they are evacuating right now because this IS a threat, this IS dangerous. 85% of the dams in the united states are reaching their life expectancy and people are in danger, first the one in nevada failed, and now this one is failing, to an extent where they’re evacuating people. Land will be devastated, animals will die, and people could potentially die/lose everything. We need to pay attention to our infrastructure, it is crumbling under us.
“Officials are anticipating a failure of the Auxiliary Spillway at Oroville Dam within the next 60 minutes (5:45 p.m.),” the California Department of Water Resources said on Facebook.
