Neither Trump nor Hillary can do most of the things people seem to believe they can. While I do feel bad things may happen, they certainly won’t be as bad as tumblr’s predicting.
We won’t be put in concentration camps, or send to mandatory conversion therapy, or have our rights stripped away overnight. We will have every opportunity to speak out and fight anything we believe to be unfair. America’s not going to become North Korea in the span of twenty four hours.
It’s a scary time, but it’s not the end of the world.

THIS, SERIOUSLY. People are freaking out for no reason. The President only has so much power. It’s the House and Senate that controls things. So people need to stop blowing things so far out of proportion, calm the f**k down, and use their heads.
Also, I voted based on the VP, because since neither President option is the best, they can be impeached. So then it goes to the VP, and that was an easy choice for me to make. No I will not say how I voted. But I will say that the world is not going to end after this election, so people need to take a deep breath, calm down, and accept that their world isn’t going to change as drastically as they fear.
For those who need reassurance again
Oh but I smell white people. White people dismissing the concerned of the marginalized because we aren’t uaing out heads. Fuck you I’m actually quite capable of reading a political landscape since I’ve been voting for almost two decades.
I’d love to reassure people but this ain’t how to do it. Because the Republicans ALSO control the House and the Senate and are in a position to control the fucking Supreme Court. That would leave us with zero checks and balances you privileged little shuttlecock.
People are genuinely fucking right to be worried and even panicked because not only are we in a terrible position, but Trump’s success will just galvanize the bigoted and disgusting racists of this country, who will in turn help raise the status of fascist parties throughout the world. (The fact you aren’t mentioning who you voted for is telling af btw.)
This calm down bullshit is so steeped in obvious privilege it’s no more than a joke. For the marginalized of this country we already live in a near nightmare and we’ve now empowered someone supported by the KKK, backed by a Republican Congress, and in a position to change the voting balance of the judicial branch.
No, we should all be very fucking scared and it was this lackadaisical privilege bullshit attitude that got us Trump in the first fucking place.
Get scared folks, and then get very loud and active because we’re in for one hell of a bad four years.
They have congress, the White House, and inevitably the Supreme Court. How do people not realize what a FUCKING disaster this is?
How do people so easily forget the US government put Japanese Americans into internment camps during WWII? How do y’all not know about Tent City prison in Arizona as of right now?
